My late father had a whole room of tanks with many types of tropical fish.
I started off with tropical but with work and travelling was hard to keep them happy. Sadly all went to the tropical fish place in the sky.
Nowadays I have the time, so keep goldfish, they are meant to be less work than tropical fish but really the only real difference is water temperture. Plus goldfish produce a lot more waste.

I have two tanks, one set in the wall (130 litre) and another in my office (70 litre). The main tank holds 10 while the smaller just holds seven fish. The smaller started out as a hospital tank but never got used so created another usable tank.
